When decluttering and organizing, keep distractions to a minimum. Commit yourself to small tasks or projects that can be achieved in a short time. Focus in short defined bursts. Here are a few tools:
Use small time blocks such as 15 minute, 30 minute intervals for doing tasks. Even five focused minutes are better than an unfocused hour.
Set a timer - you can use your smart phone or computer if you don't have one.
Try to be laser focused and do nothing else but this task.
Be kind to yourself. If you discover that you have gone off task, gently turn your attention back to what you were doing.
Pretend it's a game and compete with yourself to get it done!
